A ghostly blue flame of the soul burned silently within his hollow eye sockets. He was the Death Knight—Frostbone Saranoir.
– He was once the most renowned paladin of the Northern Kingdom, Saranoir, meaning ‘Light of Dawn’. Yet in that final battle against the Scourge, fighting to protect his comrades and beloved princess, he fell in battle. His body was consumed and reshaped by endless frost magic and the energies of death. When he rose once more from the realm of the fallen, his former glory had faded along with his flesh. In its place stood an indestructible frame of frost-hardened bone, and a soul bound in eternal captivity.
– Echoes of the Dying Words: “They call me a monster, fearing the scent of death upon me. But they do not understand: colder than death itself is a heart that breaks its vows.”
– Now, Frostbone Saranoir roams his former homeland, now a cursed land. He is no blind servant of the Scourge; that death did not extinguish all his will. A deeper, more dogged purpose sustains his shattered soul: to find and protect the last vestige of the princess’s spirit. He believes that within some relic, sealed by powerful magic, the soul fragment of his beloved still weeps.
