The character is designed to be in a combat relationship with Wukong from the same series, recreating the classic intense battle scene from the original work. The Azure Lion action figure began pre-orders in February 2024, alongside the release of the 1/12-scale Wukong version. The two can be displayed together to enhance the scene’s visual and playing.

Lion Showdown

This figure looks incredible. That said, it will have a lot of competition on shelves and in collections with both Nottaa and Mythic Legions also producing lions. The Nottaa in particular will be a direct competitor following the same Wukong lore. My one big complaint about Fury Toys Sun Wukong release was the feeling that our monkey king was too tall. After scaling against this lion, it makes a bit more sense as he is massive! I do wish all the armor pieces were removable for different play options, but nonetheless this lion is fantastic and almost a lock for a top 10 release in 2025.
